Enrique Wrestles With Chemicals On U.K. Charts
Feb 9, 2002
Enrique Iglesias started a second week at the top of
the U.K. singles chart (Feb. 3) with "Hero" (Interscope) and
also saw his album, "Escape," rocket 21-2 on the region's album
chart. But the Spanish superstar had to play second fiddle on the latter
survey to the Chemical Brothers, whose fourth album "Come With Us"
(Virgin) became their third in a row to top the U.K. album chart. The
duo previously reigned with "Dig Your Own Hole" in 1997 and
"Surrender" in 1999.
Around Europe, its a 10th week at No. 1 on the European
Top 100 Albums chart for Robbie Williams' "Swing When You're Winning"
(Chrysalis), while longtime German rock favorite Die Toten Hosen had the
week's highest entry at No.5 with "Auswartsspiel" (JKP/East
West) at No. 5.
