Eminem, P.O.D., & Missy Elliott Top MTV Video Music Awards Nominations

Eminem, P.O.D., and Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott lead the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards nominees with six nominations apiece.

Eminem's "Without You" (which mocks Moby, Osama Bin Laden, and 'NSync's Chris Kirkpatrick) is up for Best Video of the Year, Best Male Video, Best Rap Video, Viewers Choice, Best Direction, and Best Editing. Elliott's "One Minute Man" nabs noms for Best Hip Hop Video, Best Direction, Best Special Effects, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, and Best Cinematography. P.O.D.'s six are spread over two clips –- "Alive" is up for Video of the Year, Best Group Video, Viewers Choice, Best Direction, and Best Special Effects, while "Youth of the Nation" is up for Best Rock Video.

Close behind Em, P.O.D., and Elliott comes Latin star Shakira's "Whenever, Wherever" and indie-rockers the White Stripes' "Fell in Love with a Girl" with four nominations each.

Saturday Night Live's Jimmy Fallon will host the 19th annual show on Aug. 29 at Radio City Music Hall in New York, while Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Pink, and Eminem are slated to perform.
